MUMBAI: They were a small number that occupied a corner of the second tier. Around 20 to 25 at the most, draped in the vibrant colours of the Ghanaian flag which made them hard to miss.
They had come to cheer the Black Starlets to a win and a place in the quarterfinals of the Under-17 World Cup. Samuel Fabin's boys didn't disappoint them as they overcame African rivals Niger 2-0 at the DY Patil Stadium here on Wednesday.
As soon as the final whistle was blown, the Ghanaian squad headed towards the section housing the small faithful bunch and saluted their spirit with a quirky dance routine. It had meant a lot to Fabin and his team.
