Ancelotti tried to play down the reprimand he gave Sergio Ramos following his sending off against Galatasaray: "I have no issues with Sergio Ramos and Sergio Ramos has no issues with me. It was just a tactical chat. He made a mistake on the pitch, which happens. Ramos is a very important player in this team. He looks good to me and he’ll play well."
The Italian does not want to hear about his centre-back - who Pérez values at €60m – possibly leaving the club: "I wouldn’t give the ok to selling Sergio Ramos, because he’s one of the best in the world. Everyone knows how important he is to this team. The relationship between the president and the players is good."
Taking full advantage of the Ramos affair, Ancelotti also affectionately told Pepe off: "I’m pleased with Pepe, even though he committed the same mistake as Ramos during the match..."
Ancelotti hopes that Real continues its excellent run of form against Valladolid: "I’m pleased with how we’re playing, with the atmosphere... Every player understands me when I make a decision. We’re on a good run, we have to continue and improve wherever we can."
Is this a good game to cut Barcelona’s lead a bit? Ancelotti answered: "We only think about doing our job. Barça has won 13 of its 14 league games this season, so I don’t think theirs is such a serious problem."
