Harambee Stars head coach Adel Amrouche will depend on Jacob Keli for goals in the Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup.
The KCB striker top scored in the Kenyan Premier League and was named the player of the year in the just ended season.
He has not played a starring role in the Stars set-up, however, in recent years but has now got his chance.
Amrouche says that he will give him a lead role in attack and hopes that he is able to replicate his form at the tournament.
“Keli is an important player in the team as he has shown in the current season,” he said.
“He does not just play an important role as a goalscorer, but also as a leader in the team.
“We will rely on him to help the team in the tournament. His role will be as one of the leaders. I hope that he can perform well because if he does, we will go far as a team.”
Allan Wanga and Keli will be looked upon to provide goals for the Stars and the coach feels they can make a strong partnership.
“It will be important that they play well as a combination because we need them to be on top of their game,” he added.
“They have both had strong seasons which is good for the side. We need players in form at this time of the season.”
