Ghanaians Abroad: Ayew returns, Waris scores, Essien makes Milan debut

Andre Ayew made his return from injury, coming on in the 73rd minute as Marseille beat Bastia 3-0 at home at the Stade Velodromme. John Boye was on the substitute’s bench for Rennes, who were defeated 1-2 away to bottom side Ajaccio.

Jordan Ayew lasted 80 minutes as Sochaux were beaten 2-0 away at Lille. Abdul Majeed Waris scored the winner and provided the assist for the equaliser as Valenciennes beat Nice 2-1 at home.

Michael Essien played full time on his debut as AC Milan were beaten 1-3 away at Napoli. Sulley Muntari was an unused substitute. Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu scored in the 86th minute and played full throttle as Udinese beat Chievo 3-0 at Stadio Friuli.

Kwadwo Asamoah played 80 minutes for Juventus who drew 2-2 with Hellas Verona. Alfred Duncan played the last 19 minutes for Genoa who were pipped 1-0 at home by Genoa. Isaac Cofie was on the Genoa bench.

Afriyie Acquah replaced Walter Gargano in the 62nd minute as Parma drew barren with Catania.

Amidu Salifu played the entire game as Modena went away and beat Cittadella 1-0. Masahudu Alhassan played 90 minutes as Latina drew 0-0 away at Varese.

Maxwell Boadu-Acosty was introduced in the 68th minute as his side Carpri drew 1-1 with Spezia.

Christian Atsu played the entire game as Vitesse Arnhem drew 0-0 with bottom side ADO Den Haag. Shadrach Eghan came on in the 46th minute as FC Twente were beaten 3-2 away at PSV.

Jeffrey Sarpong played 65 minutes for Nac Breda who beat Roda JC 2-0.

Albert Adomah came on in the 68th minute as Middlesbrough played a 0-0 home draw with Blackburn Rovers. Abdul Osman came on in the 89th minute as Crewe Alexandra played a 3-3 away draw with Bradford City.

Kwesi Appiah came on in the 78th minute as Notts County beat Coventry City 3-0 at home. Patrick Agyemang came on in the 80th minute as Portsmouth drew 1-1 away with Exeter City.

Karim Bellarabi played the entirety of Eintracht Braunschweiger's 0-3 away loss to Eintracht Frankfurt. Kevin-Prince Boateng played 90 minutes for Schalke who beat Hannover 2-0 at the Veltins Arena. Baba Rahman lasted the entire game as Greuther Fürth lost 1-2 away to Kaiserslautern.

Nana Kwesi Asare was in action as Gent drew 0-0 away with KV Oostende. Jerry Vandame played 90 minutes for Mechelen who drew goalless with OH Leuven. Abraham Kudemor and Eugene Ansah were on the bench for their respective sides as Lokeren beat Charleroi 3-1. Bernard Kumordzi came into the game in the 83rd minute as his side Genk lost 3-1 to Club Brugge.

Samuel Inkoom played the entire game as Platanias lost 0-1 at home to Ergotelis.

David Addy could not help Vitoria Guimarães to recover from a 2-3 away loss at Vitória Setúbal.

John Arwuah played the entire game as AmaZulu drew 0-0 away with Moroka Swallows.

Fatau Dauda finally made his debut, coming on in the 68th minute for an injured Meyiwa and Rashid Sumaila came on in the 88th minute as Orlando Pirates lost 0-1 at home to Mamelodi Sundowns.

Samuel Afum returned from injury and was introduced in the 79th minute as Young Boys lost 2-3 away at FC Basel.

Jerry Akaminko played the entire game as Eskişehirspor lost 0-3 away at Galatasaray. Richard Kingson was in post for Balikesirspor who went away to beat Boluspor 1-0. Striker Kwame Amponsah Karikari played the final 11 minutes.

Torric Jebrin and Shaibu Yakubu were both introduced late in the second half as 1461 Trabzon drew with Gazientep BB.

Godsway Donyoh was on target for Swedish side Falkenberg who were defeated 2-1 by Lyngby. Sam Mensah played 90 minutes for Orebro BK who beat Mattersburg 2-1 in the Continental Cup ongoing in Portugal.
