Cape Coast, Sept. 19, GNA - The Central Regional branch of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) on Monday presented stationary materials to the Regional and District Directorates of the Ghana Education Service (GES).
The items, which include 43 boxes of A4 sheets, 44 packs of foolscap sheets and 22 boxes of pen, was to help solve the basic stationary and administrative needs of the GES at the regional and district levels.
Presenting the items, Mr William Abedi Boadu, Regional Secretary of GNAT said his outfit, as a stakeholder in education, took statistics of the various needs of the District Directorates of the GES and realised that they lacked basic stationary logistics to do their administrative work, hence the support.
He said most of the time, teachers were transferred without letters with the explanation was that there were not sheets to print the letters and hoped that the donation would go a long way to solve such problems.
Mr Boadu called on the GES to always engage the leadership of the GNAT when they had issues with members, especially concerning transfers, “so that an amicable solution could be found without stepping on anyone’s toes.”
