ARSENAL’S refusal to sell Alexis Sanchez to Manchester City is ‘just ridiculous’, according to Ian Wright.
Sanchez, 28, has just ten months remaining on his current contract at Arsenal and looked destined to join Manchester City on deadline day.
City had a £55million bid, which included £5m in add-ons, accepted by the Gunners for the Chile international.
But Arsenal rejected their rivals’ offer after failing to land Monaco winger Thomas Lemar in a £92million deal, with the player himself rejecting a move.
Sanchez appears to have no intention of signing fresh terms at the Emirates after already rejecting a £300,000-week deal.
And Wright reckons not selling Sanchez and failing to have a plan in place before the transfer window slammed shut was baffling.
“Letting the deadline pass without selling Chilean striker Alexis Sanchez was just ridiculous,” Wright wrote in his column for The Sun.
